Founded in 1921 in Aleppo, Al-Ressaleh School stands as a long-established educational institution that has served generations of students within a balanced and disciplined environment.

The school provides Kindergarten and Elementary education grounded in structured academic foundations, focusing on intellectual growth, character development, and responsible conduct.

Particular emphasis is placed on building confidence, encouraging critical thinking, and fostering initiative and collaboration, preparing students to contribute meaningfully to their communities and to the future.

HISTORY & DEVELOPMENT

A Legacy of Education Since 1921

Al-Ressaleh School was founded in Aleppo in 1921 as a trusted educational institution committed to structured learning and the development of character within a disciplined and supportive environment.

The school includes two core sections: Kindergarten and Elementary. Alongside all core subjects, students also study English and French to strengthen language competence and broaden learning opportunities.

The school operates under the guidance of the Educational Council of the Armenian Evangelical Church, which consistently plans for improvement and continuity, especially throughout the difficult years Syria endured during the war.

Across generations, our dedicated teaching staff have worked with care and professionalism to plant the seeds of success, building confidence, responsibility, and positive engagement, preparing students to become active members of society. We believe that today’s children will shape the future.

PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Decades of experience advancing the school’s mission

Mary Hakko is an educational and administrative leader with more than four decades of experience at Al-Ressaleh Private School. She began her career in 1983 as a bus supervisor and Arabic language teacher in early childhood education, before being appointed in 1992 as a teacher for the third childhood stage.

In 1995, she transitioned into the accounting department, serving with distinction until 2004. From 2004 to 2010, she combined financial leadership with school administration. She later led the school during multiple periods between 2012 and 2014, and again from 2017 to 2023.

Across these years, she played a key role in enhancing academic performance, strengthening administrative systems, and supporting institutional development. In 2024, she was appointed as the Owner’s Representative, reflecting the school’s confidence in her extensive expertise and her pivotal role in advancing its mission.

Today’s role: supporting school leadership and quality development through transparent, efficient, and sustainable systems.
